18k Gold Oval Checkerboard Amethyst Cable Oval Open Link Station Necklace

There is something wonderfully rich and slightly bohemian about this one.
Five substantial natural amethysts are spaced along a beautifully detailed 24-inch solid 18k yellow gold chain, their deep purple colour creating a striking contrast against the warmth of the gold. Each amethyst measures approximately 16.1 x 12.1mm and has been given a double-sided checkerboard cut - allowing the stones to catch the light beautifully from either side as the necklace moves. The open bezel-style settings also mean there really isn't a wrong way for them to fall when worn. The chain itself deserves just as much attention. Polished oval links alternate with beautifully textured, rope-edged links, giving the necklace an almost vintage-inspired richness and making it interesting even between the gemstones. At 22.77 grams and 24 inches long, it has lovely substance and versatility. Wear it long as intended, layer it with shorter gold chains, or double it for an entirely different look. Deep purple amethyst, warm 18k gold and a little old-world glamour - a wonderfully unusual necklace.
