Antique Gold & Platinum Rose Cut Diamond & Pink Gemstone Long Oval Platter Ring
A Rare Late Victorian / Early Edwardian Statement Piece. An extraordinary long oval “platter” ring, richly layered with antique rose cut diamonds and vivid pink gemstones, set in the elegant craftsmanship of the late 19th to early 20th century. At its centre sits a dramatic vertical row of rose cut diamonds, their soft faceting producing the distinctive candlelit glow only antique stones possess. Surrounding this core is a halo of vibrant pink gemstones; likely antique rubies or pink sapphires - creating a striking ribbon of colour that draws the eye inward. Encasing the entire composition is a final border of rose cut diamonds, forming a beautiful tiered oval frame that amplifies both brilliance and dimension. The stones are wonderfully irregular, each hand-cut more than a century ago, giving the piece the organic sparkle collectors love in true antique jewellery. The setting itself is equally special. The diamonds are mounted in platinum, a hallmark of fine jewellery from the Edwardian period. Beneath this sits a rich yellow gold gallery and band crafted in solid 17–18k gold, creating that coveted antique contrast between warm gold and cool platinum. This is not simply a ring - it is a piece of jewellery history. A rare survivor from a time when each stone was cut by hand and each setting built by a master jeweller.
