At the centre of this ring is an exceptional vintage 8.11ct natural Colombian emerald - long, beautifully proportioned and full of that unmistakable glowing green that makes Colombian emeralds so sought after. This colour… bright, fresh, almost minty in certain light, then suddenly intensely green. The emerald cut lets you see right into the stone, including the natural inclusions and jardin that belong to an emerald of this size and origin. It doesn't feel overly polished or perfect. It feels alive. The setting is what makes it for me. Rather than adding anything extra, the emerald has been set into a wonderfully substantial solid 18k yellow gold ring, with a wide brushed band and sculptural claw setting. That soft matte gold against the saturated green is just glorious - modern, strong and incredibly wearable despite the scale of the stone. 8.11 carats is serious emerald territory. Especially with Colombian origin and AGL certification.
